Our latest project will see us making deliveries all the way over to Turkey!
We have recently been commissioned to do work (which we actually won over other companies across the world!) on a V2500 engine Cowl repair jigs. We have been contracted to repair the Cowl by supplying the manufacturer with a main jig. This jig will then be placed on to the wings of a Boeing 737!
Below you can see an image of our latest progress on the project.
We are already nearly finished with the project with planned delivery soon! We have done this previously for a company based in Scotland, Goodridge, so we know our stuff!
The cowling is a covering for the V2500 engine. The cowling will help to reduce drag reduction, cool the engine by directing the airflow, act as an air take for jet engines and surprisingly for decorative purposes! Because who wants an engine showing right? This would make the best of fliers nervous seeing the engine! So our work can be pretty vital for the aeroplane at hand! Which in this case is the Boeing 737!
The Boeing 737 is a short to medium twinjet narrow body airliner. This is one of the best-selling jet commercial airliners. Boeing has continuously manufactured it since 1967 with an amazing 8,845 aircraft delivered and 4,392 orders yet to be fulfilled as of December 2015! That’s a lot of aeroplanes!
We are looking forward to completing the project and sending it on the way to Turkey, Istanbull!
